Darby Arakelian

Darby J. Arakelian is an intelligence consultant who has worked in and provided contract support to multiple organizations in the U.S. Intelligence Community.  Ms. Arakelian specializes in terrorism and counterterrorism communications strategy and analysis, cyber warfare, and automated media monitoring and analysis.

A former operations officer for the Central Intelligence Agency, Ms. Arakelian worked domestically and abroad in a myriad of functions.  She previously served as a counterintelligence senior analyst with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, specializing in counterterrorism, force protection, and special access programs.

One of the positions she held in the private sector was vice president of a business analytics firm, responsible for new business development and project management. This work supported key U.S. Government agencies in the global war on terrorism.  In this capacity, she continually bridged the gap between a viable commercial application – media monitoring and predictive automated analysis – and the needs of the U.S. Government in the fight against terrorism.

Ms. Arakelian holds a B.A. in Political Science, Russian, and Economics from the University of Denver; her M.A. is in Security Policy Studies from the Elliott School of International Studies, The George Washington University. She was named outstanding alumna by Mason City High School, Mason City, IA.  She serves as a board member on Women on Mission in St Louis, a charity benefiting the College Hill area of St Louis, MO.
